Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what happens to it afterwards.

This is a working draft. It describes accurately what the software does with your information, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer against the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Have it checked before the site goes live.

What we collect

When you enquire, book a visit or open an account we record your name, mobile number and email address, and the city and property you were asking about.

When you browse we record which listings were viewed, so we can tell a seller how their property is doing. This is counted, not tied to your name unless you are signed in.

If you list a property we hold the details and photographs you give us, and the documents you upload in support of them.

Why we hold it

To answer you. A mobile number given on an enquiry form is used to call you back about that enquiry.

To run the service — showing you your shortlist, your appointments and the listings you have posted.

To tell a seller how many people have viewed and saved their property.

Who sees it

The agent handling your enquiry, and the administrators who run the office.

The seller of a property you enquire about sees that there is an interested buyer. They are given your contact details only once an appointment is arranged.

We do not sell contact details, and we do not pass them to other agencies.

Accounts created for you

Booking an appointment creates an account so you can track it. The username is your email address and the initial password is your mobile number — the confirmation says so plainly at the time.

If the email or mobile you give already belongs to an account, nothing is changed and no password is reset. Please sign in instead, or use the password reset.

Change that initial password once you are in.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and leads are kept while they are live and for a reasonable period afterwards, because property decisions are slow and people come back.

Deleted listings and records go to a recycle bin first and are removed permanently by an administrator.

What you can ask for

A copy of what we hold about you.

A correction, if something is wrong.

Deletion of your account and the personal details attached to it, where we are not required to keep them.

Write to hello@housingpride.com and we will come back to you.

Cookies and similar

The site keeps your sign-in token in your browser so you stay signed in, and a session cookie that lets us refresh it. Both are needed for the site to work.

We do not run advertising trackers.

Questions about any of this go to hello@housingpride.com.
